The idea of being a male and trying to get a job at Hooters probably brings one of two thoughts to mind: either it sounds like the best idea ever or laughably implausible. Well it turns out Hooters DOES hire men, though not typically as waiters. Often they work jobs like dishwashers or cooks. 

Still, some men have tried to get jobs as waiters and the results have, as you may expect, not turned out too favorably. In 1997, three Chicago men sued Hooters for being denied employment, earning them $19,100 each. In Maryland, four others in a similar situation received $10,350 each. In 2001, a class action lawsuit was paid out after a jury determined Hooters had been sending unsolicited advertising faxes. 

One of the worst occurred in 2004, when a West Covina, California Hooters had a civil suit filed against it for hiding cameras in the waitress changerooms. Another woman had filed a lawsuit for being told that if she didn’t lose weight in 30 days, she would be fired. So if there’s anything to learn from this, it’s that if you want to make a quick buck, try getting a job at Hooters and then file a lawsuit.
